Developing an Austrian decision analytic model for statin treatment of CHD patients

Statins (cholesterol lowering drugs) are increasingly prescribed for secondary prevention of coronary heart disease (CHD). A health economic analysis of statin treatment in Austria based on decision analytic modelling is conducted by the LBI-HTA. For that purpose a model which has been developed for the UK by experts from the University of Sheffield will be adapted. The workshop aims at discussing practical problems in the development of the adapted model for Austria. Experts from the University of Sheffield, from the federation of the Austrian social security institutions and from the LBI-HTA will participate in this one-day workshop.
