Drug misuse and dependence are associated with a substantial burden of disease worldwide. Music therapy has demonstrated short-term benefits in patients who do not respond adequately to conventional treatments; however, its long-term effects remain unclear. The FALCO (Fighting Addictions, Improving Lives: COmprehensive Drug Rehabilitation with Music) project is investigating the long-term effects of different music therapy approaches compared with standard treatment within the framework of a multicentre randomised clinical trial.
The AIHTA is responsible for conducting a literature review on approaches to outcome measurement and contributes to stakeholder involvement and the dissemination of findings to different target audiences throughout the project lifecycle.
