Background:
Recent studies show advances for the clinical use of hyperthermia (heating target tissue by microwaves) a adjuvant therapy to conventional tumortherapy. Additionally precision and quality control of the technology have improved over the past 5 years. Therfore we perform a systematic review on the clinical benefits of hyperthermia as a curative and as a palliative treatment option.
Aim and objectives:
Aim is to summarise the evidence profile of hyperthermia studies and to identify indications where hyperthermia has a beneficial effect on patients.
Method:
Systematic review on patient relevant outcomes and recommendation for the use of hyperthermia
