Objective:
Each year, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health receives proposals from service-providers for inclusion of new medical procedures in the BMG catalogue of procedures as a prerequisite for reimbursement. The procedures are prioritized by the Ministry of Health and the assessments contracted out to the LBI-HTA. The aim of this project is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of these procedures. Since 2015, the evidence syntheses are elaborated in English and in EUnetHTA Core model, so that they are also useful for other countries.
Methods:
The assessments are based on systematic reviews for each intervention and a summary of the scientific evidence according to the GRADE scheme.
