Update PET/PET-CT: evidence for need based planning in oncological indications
Project leaders: Claudia Wild
Project team: Ozren Sehic, Daniela Auinger
Duration: December 2022 – April 2023
Hardly any other medical technology has been evaluated as often in Western countries as positron emission tomography (PET/PET-CT). The aim of the update presented here (of the 2015, 2018 and 2020 reports) is to identify oncological indications for which the use of PET/PET-CT is recommended or explicitly not recommended by relevant professional societies and in evidence-based guidelines. For this purpose, a comprehensive hand search of guideline databases, websites and databases of national and supranational professional societies is conducted.
