Development of a logic model for the care of vulnerable persons in a low-threshold, outpatient healthcare centre - Focus: homeless and non-insured persons
Project leaders: Ingrid Zechmeister-Koss
Project team: Ingrid Zechmeister-Koss
Duration: July 2019 – October 2019
Suggested by: neunerhaus, Vienna
Language: German/English
Background:
Logic models aim at illustrating the flow and impact logic of programmes and interventions and are integral components of evaluations. In general, logic models intend to visualise five central elements: the (programme) input, subsequent (programme) measures and actions, the expected output and the impact to be achieved by specific target groups (outcomes). Moreover, logic models pursue the goal to outline how more general (social) problems can be solved by a programme, an intervention etc.
Project aim:
The objective of this project is to use a participatory process (integration of patients, members of health and social professions) in order to develop an impact model for the healthcare centre neunerhaus in Vienna. The results of the LBI-HTA report from 2019 on evaluation methods for low-threshold outpatient healthcare centres for vulnerable groups will provide relevant background information.
Research questions:
The following questions will consider the views of neunerhaus patients and of health and social professions:
- How to design an effective model reflecting the performance characteristics of the neunerhaus healthcare centre providing healthcare for vulnerable persons in a low-threshold outpatient setting?
- What can be derived from this for the conception of a subsequent evaluation process (consideration of the results of the LBI-HTA report from 2019)?
Methods:
- One-and-a-half-day workshop as a participatory process involving neunerhaus patients as well as healthcare professionals and members of involved social professions (e.g. social workers).
