Lucia Gassner is sport and educational scientist (University of Vienna, Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica and Universidad de Huelva, Spain), and has been working as a researcher for the AIHTA GmbH. Her research focuses on high-tech medicine (evaluation of individual medical procedures) and public health interventions to support evidence-based policy decisions in health care. Before, she operated in clinical trials at the Medical University of Vienna and University of Vienna, worked as a process manager and medical training therapist at the Vocational Education and Rehabilitation Centre, and as a project manager and consultant at the Austrian Ministry of Education. In her PhD theses at the RMIT University Melbourne (biomedical engineering) and at the University of Vienna (sport science), she investigates impacts of sport climbing on quality of life in Parkinson’s patients.
