Verena Steiner-Hofbauer has been working as a researcher at AIHTA since June 2026. Her work focuses on health economic evaluations of medical interventions and high-cost medicines within the HTA processes of the Austrian Appraisal Board. She also contributes to projects in the research area public health and complex interventions.
After completing her degree in Psychology, she obtained a Doctor of Medical Science (Mental Health and Behavioural Medicine) from the Medical University of Vienna. Prior to joining AIHTA, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher and research group leader at Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences from 2022 to 2026. In addition, she serves as a university lecturer at the Medical University of Vienna.
